Role Summary

EB are seeking suitably qualified & career minded Electrical/Instrumentation Maintainers (Dual Trade Electricians) or experienced Electricians to join the Maintenance team in a permanent, full-time capacity at their manufacturing facility based in Westbury, Tasmania. Whilst a dual trade qualification is highly desirable, the ability for the right candidate to undertake further training in Instrumentation will be considered. Therefore, candidates with a solid work history as an electrician and who have a genuine interest in progressing their career in Industrial Maintenance are encouraged to apply.

As part of this growth phase, EB have two newly created positions available for electrical maintainers. These positions will be working on day shift and will have the added benefit of monthly RDO's.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Electrical and Instrumentation maintenance and calibration of equipment and facilities.
  • Identifying defects and/or troubleshooting any failed plant and/or equipment.
  • Completion of work orders and other work instructions as directed to the appropriate quality standards.
  • Ensure maximum plant and equipment uptime is achieved by providing effective and efficient electrical preventative and breakdown maintenance.
  • Undertaking electrical instrumentation maintenance and repair to fixed plant and equipment.
  • Electrical installations and commissioning of new plant and equipment.
  • Ensuring that all electrical instrumentation works are carried out to meet the company safety and housekeeping requirements, in compliance with all relevant regulations.
  • Completing work orders to appropriate standards as directed.
  • Working in a safe and environmentally conscious manner in line with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP).

About You

You will be someone aligned to the EB values, People Matter, Transformation Matters and Outcomes Matter.In addition, you will be accountable, flexible and adaptable, someone who takes pride in their work together with an unwavering commitment to safety and an eye for detail. Specific qualifications, experience and abilities will include:

  • Relevant Australian Recognised Trades Qualifications (Minimum Certificate III Electrical and/or Instrumentation) with broad post trade heavy industrial experience highly desirable.
  • Understanding of work planning and scheduling procedures.
  • Understanding of financial implications of maintenance at a job level.
  • A thorough understanding of contemporary maintenance work management practices.
  • Experience within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Sound computer literacy.
  • The ability to work independently/unsupervised and as part of a team.
  • The ability to provide out of hours support.
  • A working understanding and knowledge of WHS regulations/procedures.
  • Qualifications and experience in Installation and maintenance of electrical equipment in hazardous areas would be highly desirable.
  • A Forklift licence and EWP ticket are desirable.

Extractas Bioscience will provide on-the-job training in systems to support the successful candidate in their role, such as Citect, Delta V, Maximo, AMS & Chemwatch. Experience working with these systems, whilst desirable, is not essential.
