In this role, you'll:
Work as part of our growing Safety, Risk and Assurance team within Sydney Trains.
You will play a key role in providing professional risk-related services and advice to internal customers and external contractors, promoting and embedding consistent and integrated risk management practices across the organisation to ensure compliance with Sydney Trains Safety Management System.
Lead the development of safety assurance deliverables for complex and safety critical change and undertaking technical safety risk assessments for management to inform risk-based decisions and support
demonstration that risk is reduced.
This role will see you lead the development of safety assurance deliverables for complex and safety critical change, improving the safety for the NSW community who use the rail network.
Your challenge will be to successfully manage complex internal, external and regulatory stakeholders through effective verbal and written communication.
This role is initially offered as a 12-month contract.
You will be based in Burwood (three minutes from the station) approximately 2-3 days a week, including Thursdays.

About you
You will be able to demonstrate your experience gained in the application of risk assessment techniques to support risk based decision making within a safety critical environment.
Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline or equivalent industry-based experience at a senior professional level within a relevant safety and/or risk context.
You will have 4-6 years+ professional experience gained in rail, oil, nuclear, mining, construction or similar organisation where safety and risk management are a major priority.
This role will give you the opportunity to develop your technical knowledge by working on a variety of interesting projects with a diverse group of stakeholders
