ABOUT US

Crop Risk Underwriting Pty Ltd (CRU) is a specialist crop insurance underwriting agency providing innovative insurance products for broadacre crops, cotton, and perennial plantations across Australia. We integrate digital agriculture and remote sensing technologies to redefine agricultural insurance, helping clients manage risks from hail, fire, and adverse weather events. Our products serve wheat, barley, canola, legumes, cotton, forestry, and perennial crops through our national broker network.

ROLE SUMMARY

We are seeking a qualified Agricultural Technical Advisor to provide expert technical analysis and agronomic support for our crop insurance products. · Provide technical agronomic advice to brokers, loss adjusters, and clients regarding crop production practices, growing conditions, and environmental factors affecting insured crops.

· Utilise crop simulation programs, GIS mapping systems, and agronomic indices to assess regional crop risks and support underwriting decisions for broadacre, cotton, and perennial crop insurance products.

· Develop and enhance insurance products by integrating contemporary agricultural practices with digital agriculture technologies and remote sensing applications.

· Conduct spatial and temporal analysis of cropping systems across different Australian agricultural regions to inform product design and premium setting.

· Support claims assessment by providing expert analysis of crop losses, growing conditions, and production factors affecting insured yields.

· Conduct farm visits and consultations with primary producers to assess practices.

· Deliver training sessions and workshops to farmers and industry groups on risk management and production practices.

· Advise farmers on pest and disease control, soil improvement, and sustainable farming techniques in relation to insurance coverage.
