Due to our accelerated growth strategy, we are seeking a tech-savvy, keen and motivated problem solver with control room experience to join our Command Centre team.

This role is so much more than a traditional control centre position. You will monitor CCTV and communicate with clients and colleagues to address issues relating to security breaches, alarms and other situations. Your day will also involve a variety of other tasks including setting up cameras for detecting events, fault finding, troubleshooting and reporting. Our monitoring centre operates three daily shifts on a 24/7 rotating roster, so flexibility is a must.

Key activities

  • Monitor CCTV footage and action breach situations
  • Report all alarms in accordance with the level of the breach
  • Maintain focus and observe activities, ensuring only authorised individuals are attending client sites
  • Camera set up and reviews including setting alert zones and alarm schedules
  • Troubleshooting offline cameras
  • Data reporting (number plate recognition)
  • Complete diary log
  • Use computerised access control systems as required
  • Use appropriate methods of communication (eg radio, phone, log books) to report incidents and issues

Key criteria

  • Previous experience (minimum 12 months) working in Control Room Operations
  • Ability to work a rotating roster across three daily shifts, seven days per week
  • Be able to work in a team environment
  • Current 1E Security License
  • Ability to problem solve and implement effective solutions in line with company procedures
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to follow clear directives of clients and internal management
  • High attention to detail
  • Effective conflict management
  • Confident, friendly and professional phone manner with the ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Computer literate in MS Office products and confidence to learn new systems
  • Must have full working rights in Australia and undertake a criminal history check prior to commencement
