About the Role and Us

We're a commercial landscape maintenance company based in the Sutherland Shire. Initially established in 2015, we rebranded to Hedgemen in January 2022; resetting our focus to provide high level horticultural services to a selected commercial and high end residential client base.

We've won a string of new contracts, creating the need for a new role for an experienced Horticulturist to join our growing business.

What you'll be doing:

  • Lead while working along side a team of 1 to 2 people. For bigger jobs, we send multiple teams - each with their own Leading Hand.
  • Follow schedules and prioritise tasks to ensure timely completion tasks across all facets of garden maintenance, including but not limited to mowing, hedging, pruning, planting, weeding and fertilising.
  • Provide guidance, mentorship, and training to the team to enhance their Horticultural skills and safety practices.
  • Regularly inspect garden areas to assess their condition, identify improvements needed, and implement corrective actions.

The team meets at our factory in Kirrawee each morning, then drive to the client site they're working at that day, then returns to Kirrawee at the end of the day. You will be working with the same team majority of the time.

The ideal candidate

  • Certificate III in Horticulture or Parks & Gardens (essential).
  • 4+ years experience as a qualified Horticulturalist.
  • Full drivers licence.
  • Proven experience leading a team.
  • Relevant experience in plant care and landscaping.
  • Team player but also able to work independently when required.
  • Seeking a role in a company they can grow within.
