About the role:
As a Systems and Platform Analyst, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping and supporting Origin's generation platform systems, including Aveva PI and cutting-edge IoT technologies.
You'll design and deliver reliable, high-performing solutions that optimise operations, enhance data insights, and support critical business outcomes. Working closely with technology and operations teams, you'll solve complex challenges, drive innovation, and ensure our platforms are secure, scalable, and future-ready.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain integrated generation platform systems, including Aveva PI, cloud, IoT, and industrial data services.
- Configure, monitor, and support PI interfaces, adapters, and OPC connections to ensure seamless and reliable data flow.
- Provide technical leadership on system architecture, networking, and integration patterns, with a focus on performance, security, and compliance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex integration and network issues, implementing long-term, sustainable solutions.
- Collaborate with business, operations, and technology teams to translate requirements into secure, high-performing solutions.
- Evaluate and implement emerging technologies to drive improvements in integration, monitoring, and platform efficiency.
Skills & Requirements
- 5+ years' experience in technology or engineering roles with strong Windows troubleshooting and support expertise.
- Hands-on experience (3+ years) supporting Aveva/OSIsoft PI environments, including OPC interfaces, adapters, and SQL Server integration.
- Proficiency in scripting with languages such as PowerShell and Python to automate and optimise system operations.
- Solid knowledge of IoT technologies and integration patterns, ideally within power generation or industrial environments.
- Proven DevOps experience working with AWS services, CI/CD practices, and cloud-based architectures.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear messages for non-technical stakeholders.
