About The Role
The role works collaboratively with patients and multidisciplinary teams across up to eight units within the High Security Inpatient Service, Extended Treatment and Forensic Unit and Secure Mental Health Rehabilitation Unit. This role works with multi-disciplinary teams to provide support for patients to achieve longer term goals of independent community functioning.
Some Of The Key Responsibilities Of The Role Include
- Deliver individual or group interventions as delegated by an allied health professional or multi-disciplinary team.
- Provide the delegating allied health professional with feedback on the patient's progress. Observe and report any changes in the patient's clinical status to the allied health professional.
- Under the direction of an allied health professional, or multidisciplinary team, implement clinical activties to meet the recovery goals of the patient. This includes the delivery and facilitation of pre-prepared programs on a defined range of topics to patients either individually or in a group settings.
About You
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following:
- Ability to communicate effectively, work collaboratively, problem solve and support decision making with involuntary patients and team members, in the context of a forensic mental health inpatient setting.
- Self-management skills, including time management, an ability to organise and prioritise tasks and complete duties in a timely manner with limited supervision while being able to follow directions and work in a team environment.
- Knowledge of, or ability to quickly acquire and apply knowledge of relevant applications including; Consumer Integrated Mental Health Apllication (CIMHA); Promaster.
- Ability to acquire and apply knowledge to support allied health service provision, such as knowledge of a health care system, basic computer literacy, medical terminology, general mental health, medical conditions.
- Ability to participate in a recovery focused practices by working in collaboration with patients and treating teams, encouraging patient's progress towards meeting their own life goals.
Mandatory Requirements
- Vaccinated against, and remain vaccinated against, certain vaccine preventable diseases (VPD) as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO. 01/16
