The Department of Lands, Planning and Environment's Water Resource Division is responsible for the administration of the Northern Territory
Water Act 1992
, which provides for the investigation, allocation, use, control, protection, and management of the Territory's water resources.

As
Director Water Planning and Engagement,
you will lead and integrate a multi-disciplinary team of water resource programs, projects, plans, data management, science communication and engagement to optimise outcomes to deliver the Division's strategic objectives and priorities.

Your key duties include providing high-level strategic advice, coordination and support to the Executive Director, coordinating the delivery of strategic projects, water allocation plans and water management activities, and leading the Division's engagement and science communication programs. This includes providing critical evidence-based analysis, managing effective governance and enhancing community awareness of the Territory's water resource management.

To be successful
you require demonstrated experience in water resource management within a range of complex hydrological and eco-hydrological domains, exceptional strategic, research and problem-solving skills, supported by strong project management capabilities and high-level report writing skills.

Tertiary qualifications in Natural Resource Management or similar qualifications relevant to the role and substantial knowledge and understanding of contemporary water resource management or regulation would be well received.
