In this position you will step into a senior role within a high-performing development team, supporting the Head of Development on major renewable projects. You'll lead project teams, take ownership of technical and commercial work streams, and drive projects from feasibility through to Final Investment Decision. This role offers you the chance to strengthen your technical expertise while stepping up into a position of greater responsibility, guiding junior team members and influencing key outcomes on large-scale projects.

About the role

This position reports into the Head of Development and involves close collaboration with grid, engineering, legal, and commercial colleagues. You'll take responsibility for leading project teams and external consultants, ensuring that all technical, planning, and commercial requirements are met to deliver bankable projects ready for FID. You will also play a key role in defining strategy and supporting investment committee processes.

What will you be doing?

  • Lead project development work streams from feasibility through to FID
  • Guide and mentor development managers across multiple projects
  • Oversee technical studies including PV and BESS sizing, yield assessments, and grid modelling
  • Coordinate environmental, planning, and permitting processes
  • Manage OEM and EPC relationships
  • Provide technical and commercial input into investment decisions

What are we looking for?

  • Proven track record in developing utility-scale solar and / or BESS projects
  • A strong Project and Stakeholder Manager - ability to lead project teams, external consultants, regulators, networks and landowners.
  • Strong technical knowledge across PV design, BESS integration, and grid connection and ability to project manage these work streams.
  • Experience with mid to late stage development process, ideally delivering a project through to financial investment decision.
  • Clear dedication to the importance of communities and social license
  • Engineering, Renewable Energy, or similar Degree
