We are seeking an accomplished Senior .NET Developer with expert-level skills in modern DevOps practices, specialising in the design and implementation of build and release pipelines, automated testing frameworks, and blue/green deployment strategies using the Microsoft .NET technology stack and the Azure DevOps platform. There are currently two positions available to work with a large QLD Govt Dept. This is an initial 12-month contract with potential 12-month extension.

The successful candidate will deliver high‑quality, maintainable solutions across all phases of the application development lifecycle. In addition to core project work, you will contribute to similar initiatives as they arise throughout the engagement.

The Senior .NET Developer should be proficient in:

  • ASP.NET / MVC (min 5 years experience)
  • Visual Studio 2019+
  • Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5–4.8.x and .NET Core
  • SQL Server 2012–2022 (including SQL Azure) – optimisation, tuning, stored procedures, triggers
  • Programming in SQL
  • XML Web Services and API development
  • Microsoft Azure Services
  • Azure DevOps
  • Windows Server environments
  • MS Reporting Services 2016
  • PingFed
  • Testing frameworks within .NET environments
  • Expert-level skills in contemporary DevOps practices, with a focus on the implementation of build and release pipelines, automated testing capabilities and blue/green deployments using .NET and the Azure DevOps platform.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Implement and maintain enterprise-grade build and release pipelines within Azure DevOps, ensuring compliant delivery processes for .NET applications.
  • Design and integrate automated testing frameworks (unit, integration, and functional) into CI/CD pipelines to reduce defects, and accelerate release readiness.
  • Plan and execute blue/green deployment strategies for .NET applications to minimise downtime, mitigate release risk, and enable rapid rollback when required.
  • Lead the development and delivery of Business Information Systems and APIs across the full Software Development Life Cycle
  • Optimise application performance and reliability through SQL Server tuning, .NET enhancements, and Microsoft Azure services integration.
  • Proactively review DevOps and development processes
  • Provide expert technical leadership on the use of Microsoft technologies
