The Senior Business Analyst will work under limited direction and be responsible for proactively supporting the Program Manager with data collection and acquisition, management, reporting, analysis and providing input to data related policy for the agency.
The Analyst will exercise initiative and judgment when setting priorities and managing workflows and have a strong attention to detail. They will provide information and advice, respond to provider enquiries, administer data collections, prepare and deliver high-quality briefings and reports, and respond to ad hoc data requests, often of a complex nature. They will work collaboratively with others to resolve problems and liaise with a range of internal and external stakeholders in a representational role.
Key duties and responsibilities
· Assist with the implementation and maintenance of systems for gathering and managing data for a range of purposes including the identification and management of risks in the higher education sector.
· Review and map existing business processes and procedural documentation within the team.
- Develop business functional requirements and resources, consistent with contractual, legislative and policy environments
- Design and develop clear and user-friendly instruction materials - including guides, manuals, and checklists that support best practice and legislative compliance.
- Develop and maintain accurate reports, data visualisation dashboards and software packages to support internal stakeholders in delivering their business objectives.
- Conduct data analysis, identify and investigate data issues, and cleanse and prepare data to support ongoing business process improvement and sound decision-making.
- Build and sustain effective stakeholder relationships to anticipate and elicit their requirements and business needs for data storage, analysis and reporting, and to resolve current or emerging issues.
- Assist with the development and maintenance of documentation including policy and processes, data dictionaries and schemas relating to provider data collection.
- Work cooperatively and effectively in a team environment to deliver outcomes, manage risks, provide training and support to others and share knowledge.
- Translate business metrics to inform internal stakeholder requirements including efficiency, improvement and performance outcomes to optimise participant experience
- Design and deliver workshops, communication and consultation resources that support complex systems and business information gathering and sharing
- Other duties as directed.
Criteria

Essential criteria
- Excellent written and oral communication and analytical skills, with a track record of producing clear, concise and persuasive documents for executive audiences. In-depth knowledge of SQL Server, T-SQL, Power Bi or other related business intelligence, data extracting, reporting or manipulation software and tools. Capacity to operate independently, deliver outcomes to tight timeframes, and manage ambiguity. Strong technical skills in data collection, consolidation and analytics including experience using business intelligence, data warehousing and enterprise content management systems. Highly developed stakeholder management skills including the ability to negotiate, influence, consult, and communicate effectively to support business change and drive the rapid adoption of new concepts.
Job Type: Contract
Contract length: 14-15 months
Pay: $700.00 – $800.00 per day
