We're hiring: SQL Tester / QA Engineer

At RUBIX, we help our clients do great things with their data. We're looking for SQL Testers / QA Engineers to support one of our enterprise clients by ensuring data accuracy, validating business logic and strengthening reporting quality during a period of major project delivery.

This is a hands on role focused on data validation and testing. You'll work closely with developers, data engineers and analysts to safeguard data integrity, troubleshoot issues and improve confidence in the data driving critical business decisions.

Location:
Melbourne or Sydney (hybrid)

Engagement:
3–6 month contract with potential to extend

Start:
Immediate / October 2025

What you'll be working on:

  • Validating data quality and integrity across multiple databases, ETL pipelines and reporting layers
  • Testing stored procedures, queries, triggers and functions to ensure accuracy and performance
  • Supporting reporting and analytics accuracy by cross-checking outputs against requirements
  • Collaborating with developers, engineers and analysts to identify, document and resolve defects
  • Providing clear documentation and test evidence to support delivery

What you'll bring to the team:

  • Strong proficiency in SQL (T-SQL, PL/SQL, or equivalent)
  • Hands on experience with data validation, ETL testing and database QA
  • Familiarity with BI/reporting tools (Power BI)
  • Understanding of QA methodologies, test case design and defect management
  • Excellent problem solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a fast paced project environment
