About the Role
The Communications and Media Lead play a key role in shaping and amplifying Parkerville's voice across internal and external platforms. Working closely with leaders and teams across the organisation, this role delivers clear, consistent, and strategic communications that strengthen brand awareness, support advocacy, and build genuine engagement with funders, people and communities.
A central focus of this role is values-led storytelling – identifying and bringing to life the impact of Parkerville's work and sharing the voices and strengths of the children, young people, and families we support. You'll research, write, and produce a wide range of content, including impact stories, media releases, op-eds, thought leadership articles, speeches, newsletters, event communications, and major publications such as the annual report. You'll also proactively manage media opportunities, responding to requests and shaping narratives that elevate Parkerville's profile.
In this role, you'll ensure all communications align with Parkerville's strategic objectives, brand narrative, and advocacy priorities. You'll support internal engagement through staff communications and resource development and use media monitoring and audience insights to measure impact and inform future strategies.
About you
You bring creativity, clarity, and purpose to your communication, with a strong ability to tailor messages for diverse audiences. You'll have tertiary qualifications in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field, or equivalent experience gained through at least five years in a similar role. You have a track record of building positive relationships with media, identifying proactive opportunities to share stories, and developing engaging, multi-channel communication strategies that connect with people and communities.
