Load 28 is South Australia's specialist in tower cranes, hoists, mobile cranes and construction lifting solutions. With rapid expansion of our tower crane fleet and increasing demand from Tier 1 clients, we are strengthening our technical team to support installations, maintenance and safe operations across major SA projects.


The Role

We are seeking a skilled Tower Crane Lead Rigger / Technician to support erecting, climbing, dismantling and maintaining our growing fleet of tower cranes. Experience with construction hoists—installation, servicing, troubleshooting—is highly desirable.

This is a hands-on role working with a tight-knit technical crew, supporting both project delivery and ongoing fleet readiness.


Key Responsibilities
  • Lead tower crane erection, climbing and dismantle activities with Load 28 crews and subcontractors.
  • Perform inspections, preventative maintenance and fault-finding on tower cranes and related lifting equipment.
  • Assist with installation, tie-ins, commissioning and maintenance of construction hoists (desirable).
  • Support site preparation, cranage logistics, foundation/anchor systems and tower crane tie-in installation.
  • Maintain WHS compliance, complete SWMS/RAMS, and participate in technical safety reviews.
  • Work closely with project managers, riggers, electricians and operations teams to deliver safe and efficient outcomes.

About You
  • Certificate III or IV in Rigging (Advanced Rigger preferred).
  • Strong tower crane installation or technical maintenance experience.
  • Construction hoist installation/maintenance experience highly desirable.
  • Ability to read plans, load charts, technical drawings and follow engineered methodologies.
  • Comfortable leading small teams on E/D activities with strong communication skills.
  • Safety-driven, reliable, physically fit and committed to professional standards.
