About the Opportunity
As Coordinator Development Assessment, you'll lead our Planning team and play a key role in shaping sustainable growth across Glen Innes Severn Council. Reporting to the Director Place and Growth, you'll drive innovation in development assessment, provide expert advice, and guide the region's long-term population growth.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead and mentor the Planning team
- Assess and determine development applications in line with legislation
- Chair pre-lodgement Development Assessment Unit meetings
- Improve and streamline assessment processes
- Represent Council in the NSW Land and Environment Court
- Contribute to strategic planning projects and community engagement
About You
You're an ambitious planning professional ready to step into leadership, with a collaborative and solutions-focused approach.
You'll bring:
- 3–5 years' experience in statutory planning (local government)
- Strong working knowledge of NSW planning legislation
- Tertiary qualifications in Urban & Regional Planning (or related field)
- Current Class C driver's licence
- Experience supervising/mentoring staff (desirable)
- Court representation experience (desirable)
- Eligibility for PIA membership (desirable)
