Forward Works Planner – Reporting
to support the development and delivery of long-term infrastructure programs that directly benefit the community.
About the Role This role is central to the planning, coordination, and reporting of forward capital works programs, including Development Contributions (s7.11 and s7.12) and Special Rate Variation initiatives. You'll work across departments, engage with stakeholders, and provide insights that guide strategic investment in public infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain long-term forward works plans
- Prioritise projects under Development Contributions and Special Rate Variation programs
- Monitor and report on program outcomes and expenditure
- Prepare statutory and community-facing reports
- Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to align project delivery
- Provide strategic advice to senior leadership and elected officials
- Prepare grant applications and oversee associated project reporting
- Deliver high-quality reports and presentations to diverse audiences
Qualifications & Experience
Essential:
- Tertiary qualifications in economics, urban planning, social policy, environmental planning, or a related field
- Experience developing strategic plans or policies
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Class C Driver's Licence
Desirable:
- Experience in local government
- Familiarity with the NSW Integrated Planning and Reporting Framework
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Sound judgment and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
