About the role

The Riverside Vet is seeking a dedicated Receptionist/Veterinary Nurse to join our friendly and passionate team in Riverside, Tasmania. This is a part-time role that will see you play a vital part in providing exceptional care and support to our patients and their owners. As a key member of our veterinary practice, you will be responsible for a range of administrative duties to ensure the smooth running of our operations with some nursing particularly when our other nurse is away.

This role would suit someone who is looking to step away from a high pace chaotic job and move to a slower paced clinic that is heavily behaviour and stress free focused, not to say that we don't get busy and chaotic

What you'll be doing

  1. Welcoming clients, booking appointments and handling payments
  2. Maintaining accurate patient records and updating client files
  3. Ensuring the practice is well-stocked and the facilities are clean and organised
  4. Promoting the health and wellbeing of animals through client education
  5. Assisting veterinarians with examinations, treatments and procedures
  6. Providing high-quality nursing care and comfort to animals in our care
  7. Carrying out laboratory tests and analysing results

What we're looking for

  1. Preferably Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing or equivalent qualifications
  2. Previous experience working in a veterinary practice or similar animal care environment
  3. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to provide excellent customer service
  4. Attention to detail and the ability to accurately maintain patient records
  5. A genuine passion for animal welfare and a commitment to providing the highest standard of care
  6. Flexibility to work a part-time schedule, please note this is an afternoon shift.
