An exciting opportunity exists for a passionate and skilled Instructional Designer Religious Education to join the Catholic Mission and Identity (CMI) team at Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools Ltd (MACS).

YOUR ROLE

The Instructional Designer Religious Education is a key contributor to the strategic faith leadership mission of MACS, working closely with subject matter experts across CMI to design and deliver high-quality digital and blended learning experiences. This role supports the development of faith-informed leadership and professional formation for staff across MACS schools and office.

You will apply your instructional design expertise and creativity to create engaging online content, microlearning modules, and multimedia resources that align with the MACS Faith Formation Framework and the MACS 2030 Strategic Vision. With strong technical proficiency in e-learning tools and a commitment to adult learning principles, you will play a pivotal role in shaping innovative, accessible, and meaningful learning pathways that promote professional growth and faith formation.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced digital learning designer to work in a mission-driven environment that combines education, formation, and Catholic identity.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • You bring experience in instructional design, preferably in large or mission-oriented organisations.
  • You have demonstrated expertise using Articulate tools (Rise, Storyline) and LMS platforms (especially Canvas).
  • You are well-versed in adult learning theory, accessibility standards, and best practices in UX and inclusive design.
  • You are a creative thinker and problem-solver who can transform complex content into compelling, accessible learning experiences.
  • You are an effective communicator who thrives in collaboration with diverse stakeholders, including subject matter experts and leadership teams.
  • You are highly organised, self-motivated, and able to manage competing priorities with a focus on quality and outcomes.

ABOUT YOU

  • Tertiary qualifications in instructional design, educational technology, education or related field.
  • Proficiency in digital learning development tools and technologies.
  • A current Working with Children Check or VIT registration.
  • A commitment to the values and mission of Catholic education and MACS child safety standards.
