McDermott Aviation is Australia's largest privately owned helicopter company, specialising in aerial firefighting, utility operations, and aircraft maintenance. With a fleet of over 50 aircraft, we play a critical role in aviation support and logistics across Australia, the USA and Europe.
As part of a major inventory and warehouse project at our Hangars in Cooroy, we're assembling a casual project team to support the identification, sorting, relocation, and system update of aviation parts.
About the Role
This project role involves assisting with a full warehouse stocktake and audit, focusing on accuracy, safety, and improved warehouse efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
• Identify and verify aircraft parts using part numbers and serials
• Match physical inventory to digital warehouse records
• Tag and label parts for storage or relocation
• Sort and consolidate inventory by type, use, or model
• Clean and maintain warehouse shelves, racking, and work areas
• Use tablets or PCs to update locations and inventory records
• Operate trolleys, pallet jacks, or forklifts (if licensed)
What You Bring
• Strong attention to detail
• Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling tasks
• Basic computer/data entry skills (Excel, tablet-based systems)
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Safety-focused mindset and reliable work ethic
Highly Regarded:
• Forklift licence (LF) or other high-risk work tickets
• Previous experience in warehousing, stock control, or logistics
• Certificate II or III in Warehousing Operations
• Exposure to aviation stores, aircraft parts, or technical inventory
• Understanding of aviation standards (CASA or FAA) or stock audit procedures
