ABOUT GOTCHA4LIFE
Gotcha4Life Foundation is a not-for-profit organisation that delivers inspirational, evidence-based, preventative mental fitness campaigns, programs, and services. Since 2017, Gotcha4Life has been on a mission to inspire and enable people of all ages to take action to build their mental fitness. Our vision is a world free of suicide, where no one worries alone. We take a protective-factor-first and strengths-based approach to building mental fitness, focusing on the skills, relationships, and everyday actions that keep people strong. Our work shifts the conversation from "what's wrong?" to "what makes us strong?", helping people strengthen their emotional adaptability, social connection, and help-seeking behaviour. Founded by media personality and all-round legend Gus Worland, at Gotcha4Life you'll get to work on high-profile projects that drive impact, with an accomplished and connected team.
ABOUT THE ROLE
The Learning Design Specialist plays a key role in shaping and developing Gotcha4Life's mental fitness programs and digital products. The role ensures all learning and educational resources are evidence-based, engaging, and accessible, and that they align with Gotcha4Life's protective-factor framework. Working within the Product & Innovation team, the Learning Design Specialist turns mental fitness concepts into practical, measurable, and inspiring tools and programs.
This role works primarily across Gotcha4Life's flagship programs, the Mental Fitness Gym and Mentally Fit Schools, developing high-quality learning content and experiences, while also supporting the broader development of our product suite. It's a hands-on, creative role that contributes directly to improving mental fitness outcomes and strengthening Gotcha4Life's impact across Australia.
HOW WE WORK
The Learning Design Specialist position is a full-time, fixed-term role for 12 months, primarily based in Sydney. We have a hybrid approach to work that continues to evolve as we respond to what is best for our team, and the people and communities we serve. Currently, we come together as a team at our Sydney CBD office to connect and collaborate 2 days a week and on other days, the team has the option to work remotely. Not-for-profit Salary packaging options (up to $18,550 annually) are also available.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Partner with subject-matter experts, educators, facilitators, and content specialists to co-design high-quality, cohesive learning materials.
- Collaborate with the Innovation, Delivery, and Impact teams to ensure all learning tools meet program objectives, evidence standards, and user needs.
- Adapt and repurpose content across delivery modes and other Gotcha4Life communications channels to ensure alignment between school, community, and digital learning environments.
- Review evaluation data and user feedback to refine and improve content quality and engagement.
- Collaborate with designers, multimedia producers, and digital partners to produce learning content across Gotcha4Life's platforms.
- Maintain consistency in tone, inclusivity, and accessibility across all resources, ensuring materials are culturally responsive and suitable for diverse audiences.
- Support the preparation of documentation for program accreditation, curriculum mapping, and external recognition where required.
- Develop templates, tools, and processes that support scalable and sustainable program design.
- Keep up to date with emerging trends in learning design, wellbeing education, and accessibility, and share insights that inform ongoing program innovation.
ABOUT YOU
- Tertiary qualifications in Education, Learning Design, Coaching, Psychology, Mental Health Promotion, or a related field.
