SEO Specialist / Digital Reputation Manager

BlackBay Lawyers is the first law firm in Australia to integrate legal strategy with crisis communications and online reputation management. We represent ASX-listed executives, high-growth founders, and public figures in high-stakes disputes where both revenue and reputation are on the line.

We are now seeking a
Digital Reputation Manager
- an exceptional SEO/digital PR professional with strong personal skills - to run all of BlackBay's in-house digital presence
and
design, launch, and grow our premium client-facing Reputation Management solution.

This is a very unique career opportunity to combine SEO, content, PR, and brand protection in one role, working side-by-side with leading litigators on matters that make headlines. You'll help win new work, protect major reputations, and shape the future of an entirely new practice area in law.

Core Responsibilities

1. BlackBay's Digital Authority

  • Drive organic growth across all practice areas; technical SEO, keyword targeting, content hubs.
  • Manage partner profiles, media bios, and high-authority content placement.

2. Client-Facing Reputation Management

  • Design digital suppression, clean-up, and profile-building services for clients where legal removal is not possible.
  • Integrate legal workflows with SEO/PR strategies for maximum effect.

3. Client Pitches & Relationship Development

  • Attend new business meetings with partners; present the digital component persuasively and clearly.
  • Act as the go-to digital advisor for high-value clients in litigation, crisis, and proactive reputation building.

4. Monitoring & Intelligence

  • Track search visibility, sentiment, and keyword mentions for clients and the firm.
  • Set up early-warning alerts for reputational risks to clients.
  • Produce quarterly "Digital Reputation Risk" briefings for partners.

5. Content & Media Placement

  • Secure high-authority placements (news, trade, industry blogs) to populate positive search results.
  • Collaborate with journalists, PR teams, and content creators to deliver targeted narratives.
  • Ensure all content meets both SEO standards and legal compliance requirements.

Skills & Experience

  • 4+ years in SEO, digital PR, or online reputation management - ideally in agency or high-stakes brand environments.
  • Demonstrated success in improving search visibility and managing reputations online.
  • Confident presenter - able to explain complex digital concepts in simple terms to senior, non-technical clients.
  • High emotional intelligence and discretion when handling sensitive information.
  • Strong writing skills for both search-optimised and media-ready content.
  • Bonus: familiarity with legal, compliance, or crisis comms environments.
