The Company

Our client is a global leader in microscopic imaging, with patented technologies enabling in vivo imaging of tissues across a wide range of surgical, pathology and life sciences applications. Through innovation and collaborations locally and internationally, they are expanding their portfolio and will transform patient's lives by enabling digital biopsies for cancer screening, diagnosis, and treatment.

The Opportunity

You will lead the company's systems engineering function across the design and integration of complex systems encompassing electronics, software, optics, and mechanical components:

  • Provide systems engineering leadership in design activities, including, risk management, technical investigations, requirements analysis, system architecture, detailed design, integration, testing, verification and validation tasks.
  • Lead verification activities and provide accompanying documentation to support regulatory submissions for the Company's existing products.
  • Provide leadership and guidance with the integration activities on Company projects.
  • Provide hands-on expertise to deliver technical outputs and supporting documentation.
  • Maintain documentation of design and development processes, including specifications, test plans and reports to ensure traceability and accountability in the product development lifecycle.
  • Work with the engineering team to design, test, debug and validate designs.

The Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in biomedical engineering, systems engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 10+ years of experience in systems engineering for medical devices.
  • Experience in the design and development of medical devices, preferably Class II or III.
  • Strong knowledge of embedded systems, electronics, optics and electro-mechanical systems.
  • Knowledge of international standards relevant to medical device development.
  • Proven experience developing systems with embedded software written in C/C++ is desirable.
