Position: Senior Systems Engineer

Location: Melbourne or Sydney

As a Senior Systems Engineer, you'll help build and operate the core systems that power ResetData's GPU Neocloud and high-performance data centre environments.

This is a hands-on, generalist role that spans Linux systems, storage, product, and security. You'll take ownership of platform builds, Support and reliability and security hardening while working closely with network and product teams to scale our infrastructure for performance, sustainability, and resilience.

What You'll Do:

• Design, deploy, and maintain secure, high-performance Linux-based systems for on premise and hybrid cloud environments
• Manage virtualisation and container platforms (Kubernetes, KVM, Proxmox and OpenShift) for GPUaaS workloads
• Assist with data centre systems operations – from working with air-cooled and immersed servers to cabling, automation and monitoring of our platforms.
• Implement and maintain system hardening and compliance controls (CIS Benchmarks, ISM, SOC 2, NIST)
• Contribute to storage and backup strategies optimised for HPC and GPU compute environments
• Build and manage infrastructure-as-code and automation workflows (OpenTofu, Ansible, or similar)
• Build and manage our cluster services with NVIDIA Enterprise AI products.
• Collaborate with network engineers to optimise system-to-network performance, security, and observability
• Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis to remediate incidents that impact service, systems performance or availability
• Document infrastructure designs, operational procedures, and change management processes
• Support junior engineers and contribute to a culture of collaboration, automation, and continuous improvement

What You'll Bring:

• You're an Australian Citizen (to meet security and compliance requirements)
• 8+ years of experience in systems engineering or platform operations roles
• Deep knowledge of Linux administration (RHEL/CentOS, Debian, Ubuntu) in production environments
• Strong grasp of virtualisation, storage, and container orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker, KVM, or Proxmox)
• Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, firewalls, VPNs, DNS)
• Experience with security hardening, compliance frameworks, and vulnerability management
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code and configuration management (Terraform, Ansible, GitOps)
• Exposure to data centre operations and HPC or GPU environments
• Experience with GPU cluster using NVIDIA BCM is a plus.
• Experience with observability, logging, and incident response tooling
• Strong documentation and communication skills across technical and business teams
• Certifications such as RHCE, CKA, or equivalent are a plus
• Passion for sustainability, innovation, and solving hard technical challenges in new ways cutting edge ways.
