The role

Propel your legal career by joining our busy market leading Public Sector practice in Canberra, advising on a wide range of commercial transactions for government agencies.

Working with our lead commercial and technology Partners, Angie Freeman, Robert Dearn and Amanda Story (known for their inclusive and supportive leadership style). You will have the opportunity to work on some of the nation's biggest and most complex public sector projects.  This is a unique opportunity to join a market leading team to work on government procurement, strategic outsourcing, and digital transformation projects.

Skills & Experience

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • experience as a Senior Associate
  • proven experience in commercial contracting (experience in public sector procurement and complex ICT transactions desirable, but not essential)
  • exceptional technical skills
  • effective written and verbal expression skills and an aptitude for reshaping and expressing complex concepts concisely
  • a naturally collegiate mindset and positive and enthusiastic attitude, which prioritises respect for peers and collaborative working.

In addition to this, we're looking for a resilient, self-starter; someone who is able to work autonomously and is focused on attention to detail and providing outstanding service to our clients.

The Public Sector team

Our national Public Sector group is widely regarded to be the premier private government practice in Australia and has a wealth of industry-leading practitioners. 

Our Public Sector (Corporate) team advises a wide range of government agencies on some of their most complex and sensitive programs, from project inception through to contract management. 

We use our skills to solve complex legal problems, assist with the development and implementation of program strategy, and inform policy development.
