We are on the hunt for experienced Heavy Duty Mechanics for assignment in Canada. Bullitt Staffing is a well-known provider of skilled-labour to Mines in Canada. We support mines in British Columbia, Northwest Territories, Nunavut and Ontario. We offer qualified Internationals 12 month working-holiday assignments, paid flights, paid accommodations, tools and visa/immigration. We pay $60/hr + OT after 8 hours per day ($70/hr for a standard 12 hour day). We require 1+ years of post license experience, a clean criminal-record and a commitment to work in Canada for 12 months. We seek those with either Surface or U/G experience. If interested, please get in touch

Key responsibilities for this role will include:

  • Troubleshoot and repair of heavy-duty and medium-duty mining equipment such as dozers, loaders, excavators, graders, scoops, bolters, haul-trucks, forklifts, skid steers, telehandlers, etc., by CAT, Komatsu, MacLean, Sandvik, Tamrock and many others.
  • The disassembly/overhaul of engines or engine components, transmissions, drive systems components and other assemblies
  • The diagnosis of equipment problems; identifying and replacing worn or broken parts as required, and making all necessary adjustments and alignments
  • Preventative maintenance
  • Keeping the shop clean
    Other duties as required

Requirements for this role are:

  • A valid Heavy Equipment Technician License with a minimum of 4 years of experience in repair and service of heavy equipment both in the shop and in the field
  • Proven track record in safe work practices and quality workmanship
  • Ability to work alone and unsupervised in remote areas
  • Focused, energetic and organized with superior attention to detail and a sense of urgency
  • Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
  • Motivated and hard working with a professional attitude
  • Ability to understand and execute verbal and written instructions and to interpret technical manuals and specifications
  • Language: speak, read and write English
  • Previous experience working in harsh Arctic temperatures is an asset
    Previous mining experience is an asset
