The Heavy Duty Mechanic is responsible for performing scheduled servicing, long-term maintenance, and unscheduled repairs on fleet, including prime movers, tankers, light vehicles, and plant equipment. The role ensures all assets are maintained in a safe, reliable, and work-ready condition.

What you will enjoy doing

  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and repairs on company and customer equipment.
  • Complete all service and breakdown documentation accurately and submit to supervisors
  • Respond promptly to breakdowns and mechanical failures
  • Participate in risk assessments and report incidents, near misses, and hazards
  • Support apprentices and collaborate with the workshop team
  • Maintain clean, safe, and organised work areas

What makes you great

  • Qualified Heavy Vehicle Mechanic (Cert III or equivalent)
  • Proven experience with trucks and heavy vehicle systems
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills

We offer an hourly rate $40-$55 per hour plus allowances based on vehicle type.
