The Opportunity

When was the last time you made a difference in someone's life?

It takes a special person to be a Care Worker and help the older members of our community to maintain their independence and wellbeing. We are looking for a person with at least 3 months experience in a similar professional role, to join the Silverchain team in the Inner West - Ashfield NSW area.

  • Above Award rates $ $42.26 per hour depending on experience/qualifications + Super + paid KM's

What we're looking for

We are looking for people who:

  • Enjoy having variety in their day. 

  • Can build positive relationships with clients and their families. 

  • Care about assisting our aged community members to live independently at home for longer. 

  • Are comfortable working independently and finding solutions to everyday problems, knowing when to ask your manager for help.  

In addition, you will need:

  • An Open class Australian Driver's Licence & your own insured, roadworthy vehicle
  • Certificate III or above in Aged Care or Individual Support Aged Care
  • Experience of 3 months or more in a similar professional role, with experience in aged care.

The role

In the role of Care Worker you will be providing our aged care clients with home help services such as:

  • General housekeeping and making beds
  • Cleaning, mopping and vacuuming floors
  • Washing, folding and ironing laundry
  • Meal preparation and grocery shopping.

You will also be providing our aged care clients with personal care services such as:

  • Getting clients out of bed, showered and dressed for the day
  • Assisting clients to take their medications
  • Assisting with mobility and therapy goals
  • Providing complex care for customers with high care needs, such as dementia 
  • Providing social and emotional support
  • Providing the client with transport to lifestyle activities or appointments
  • Helping the family carer to have a break or an opportunity to do other things.
