10 year Australian founded company aimed to disrupt traditional courier models by leveraging crowd-sourced, on-demand runners and smart technology to improve last-mile delivery. Our client is one of Australia's leaders in Logistics, Transport, Supply Chain and Retail rapidly expanded their offerings, including bundled, on-demand, and premium same day delivery options.
About the role:
Reporting directly to the VP of Sales, you will be responsible for generating, growing and maximizing sale revenue, by engaging with customers and establishing new accounts and strategically planning your portfolio growth.
Duties & key responsibilities:
- Pinpoint and win new business across the market, focusing on last-mile and same-day/next day delivery solutions using innovative technology.
- Shape and deliver on business development plans, from identifying prospects and outreach, to steering the full sales process—prospecting, cold calling, tailored proposals, engaging presentations, and successful contract signings.
- Build and maintain a solid pipeline by tracking competitors, unearthing shifts in retail, e-commerce, and other relevant sectors.
- Strengthen and nurture client relationships for long-term success, using a consultative approach and ongoing check-ins to create satisfied, repeat customers.
- Partner with operations, support, and tech teams to make onboarding seamless and ensure service delivery matches each client's needs.
Ideally the successful person will have industry knowledge, the ability to adapt and develop their career further.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Recent experience in business development, sales, or account management, preferably in logistics, last-mile delivery, transport, or similar technology-led services.
- Demonstrated success in acquiring new business and meeting sales targets in a B2B setting.
- Good grasp of the landscape for last-mile, same-day, or express delivery—trends, tech, and what customers are after.
- Clear, confident communication with skill in negotiation and presenting ideas to a broad range of decision-makers, from independents through to enterprise level.
- Analytical mindset, comfortable researching markets and keeping tabs on rival activity.
- Experience with relevant industries; Transport, Supply Chain, Storage, Freight Forwarding.
