Are you hands-on, mechanically minded, and love working with boats, trailers, and outboards? Rockhampton Marine is seeking a Workshop All-Rounder to join our busy dealership, assisting with Box trailer & Boat Trailer assembly, new boat fit-outs, and outboard Motor installations. If you've got proven workshop experience and know your way around tools, this could be the perfect role for you

About the Role

This is a hands-on workshop position suited to someone with mechanical aptitude and strong attention to detail who takes pride in their work and loves to see a quality job roll out the workshop door. While a formal qualification is not required, you must have proven experience working with tools in a workshop or mechanical setting.

You'll be working independently and alongside our certified technicians to complete a variety of tasks across our marine and trailer department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and assemble new Box Trailers & Boat trailers for sale

  • Fit trailer accessories including cages, toolboxes, spare wheels, etc.

  • Set up new boat trailer packages

  • Setup and adjust boat trailers to suit various hulls

  • Perform trailer servicing including wheel bearings and brake servicing

  • Assist with outboard motor fitments (new installations)

  • Carry out basic outboard servicing and minor repairs (under supervision)

  • Complete 12V electrical installations (fish finders, LED lighting, stereos, etc.)

  • Assist with loading & Unloading freight (forklift Licence Highly Regarded)

  • Assist customers loading & unloading goods

  • Maintain a clean and organised workspace and uphold safety standards

About You

  • Hands-on experience with tools and mechanical work is essential

  • Strong mechanical knowledge (formal qualification not required)

  • Physically fit - Ability to work indoors and outdoors

  • Problem solver with a common sense approach to tasks

  • Confident working independently and as part of a small team

  • Experience with trailers, boats, or automotive/mechanical servicing highly regarded

  • Reliable, self-motivated, and committed to quality workmanship

  • Ability to follow instructions and take pride in your work

  • Exceptional time Management skills

  • QLD Open Drives Licence

  • Boat Licence (highly regarded)

  • Forklift Ticket or Willing to obtain ASAP
