Job Title: Regional Training Coordinator

This role involves coordinating and overseeing the development, evaluation, planning, implementation, and delivery of training functions across the Central Region. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with stakeholders to ensure the delivery of standardized, accredited, and non-accredited competency-based training.

The Regional Training Coordinator plays a key role in supporting the operational capability of a new integrated marine rescue service. This includes providing leadership and direction to plan, coordinate, and facilitate training programs in areas of responsibility. The coordinator will also manage coordination of education and training, including travel for members, facilities, and purchasing and maintenance of training equipment and other assets.

The ideal candidate will have experience in maritime search and rescue organizations or be willing to acquire formal search and rescue qualifications within six months of commencement. They should also possess knowledge and/or qualifications in project management and be able to travel intra-state as required.

In this role, you will identify, develop, and implement strategies to efficiently coordinate training needs and activities. You will also provide advice on best practices with innovative approaches to the evaluation of education and training. Additionally, you will cultivate relationships and establish effective communication channels with internal and external clients, stakeholders, and service providers.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and coordinating projects involving volunteers to ensure the development of professional and effective education products. They will also monitor trends, best practices, and emerging issues pertaining to education and training.

  • Ensure completion of projects within negotiated timeframes.\
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve professionalism, safety, effectiveness and efficiency of staff.\
  • Implement competency based training to achieve business objectives.\
  • Collaborate with senior managers to develop and implement plans for the improvement of educational services.\
  • Engage with regional and remote communities, particularly First Nations' communities, and demonstrate a knowledge of cultural and other sensitivities when working in these communities.\
  • Undertake research and analysis to identify emerging trends and best practice in education and training.\
  • Make recommendations for changes to policies, procedures and processes to improve service delivery outcomes relating to education and training.\
  • Represent the organization at meetings, conferences and other events to promote the organization's interests and build relationships with stakeholders.\
  • Contribute to the development of policies, procedures and guidelines for the management of education and training.\
  • Develop and maintain networks and partnerships with other organizations to access information, expertise and resources.\
  • Build and maintain relationships with team members, colleagues and stakeholders to achieve organizational goals and objectives.\
  • Take ownership for own learning and development to enhance skills and knowledge in education and training.\
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and protect the privacy of individuals and the organization.\
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the organization.\
  • Develop and maintain risk management strategies to mitigate risks associated with education and training.\
  • Comply with all relevant laws, regulations and standards related to education and training.\
