Empire is a boutique accounting firm based in Caroline Springs, working with small-to-medium businesses across Australia. We specialise in bookkeeping, payroll, and tax compliance. Our team thrives on collaboration, client care, and helping business owners feel in control of their finances.

We're now looking for a dedicated Payroll Officer to join our team to manage the full payroll function across our growing client base. You'll be based in our Caroline Springs office for the first three months, with the flexibility to work from home after that period.

About you, we're looking for someone with:

  • 5+ years payroll experience, ideally across multiple businesses or within a practice
  • Knowledge of Xero Payroll, MYOB, and QuickBooks
  • Confidence working with awards and interpreting basic employment entitlements
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work autonomously.

Your responsibilities will include:

-Processing weekly, fortnightly, and monthly payrolls across various clients

-Ensuring compliance with relevant awards, STP, PAYG, superannuation obligations and Payroll Taxes

-Managing employee new hire onboarding and termination payroll steps

-Preparing payslips, reports, and payment files (ABA files)

-Responding to client queries regarding payroll matters

-Supporting the bookkeeping team as needed with payroll-related tasks.
