About the Role
As the Head of Department - English/Humanities, you will play a pivotal leadership role in shaping curriculum direction aligned with both school priorities and broader departmental strategies. This position offers the opportunity to actively contribute to the vision of the Early Childhood and State Schools Division by fostering excellence in teaching and learning. You will drive instructional improvement, support staff development, and implement innovative practices that enhance student outcomes. A key aspect of the role involves building and maintaining strong, positive relationships with students, colleagues, and the wider school community to create a supportive and collaborative learning environment.
Your Responsibilities
As the Head of Department - English/Humanities, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Lead the school department to develop, articulate and commit to a shared educational vision focussed on providing quality learning outcomes for all students.
- Embed socially just practices in daily school life.
- Set high standards for student and staff performance.
- Actively participate in lifelong learning and ongoing professional development.
