
Experienced Land and Conservation Field Technician

HCB Rural and Land Management (HCBRLM), has a position available for a highly motivated person with previous experience in land management and conservation work.
Our business is based in Singleton, NSW. We are fortunate to operate in an area with a diversity of industries including coal mining, agriculture and tourism and as such benefit from working in a variety of landscapes including biodiversity offset areas, mine rehabilitation areas, agricultural areas and National Parks.
Our company provides clients with a complete land management package of services. Employees have the opportunity to be involved in the following tasks:
- Weed control, monitoring and strategic management plans
- Feral pest management
- Rural and commercial fencing
- Tree planting and bush regeneration
- Erosion control
- Property maintenance
- Bushfire mitigation, including trail maintenance
- Vegetation management
We are looking for new team member who is experienced in land management work, is highly motivated, has good work ethic and appreciates working in what can be a physically demanding, outdoor, environment.
Essential Role Requirements:
Basic experience across a range of land management and conservation tasks which could include weed control, weed identification, land rehabilitation, fencing, sediment control, vertebrate pest management, slashing, bush regeneration, bushfire mitigation, track maintenance and property inspections
Current drivers license and reliable transport
- 5 day, Monday to Friday availability
- Construction Industry White Card or a willingness to obtain
- Current AQF3 Chemical Use accreditation or a willingness to obtain
- Ability to pass an Order 43 medical, required on NSW mine sites, including conformance to strict drug, alcohol and non-smoking policies
- An understanding of risk management practices and working under safe work procedures/polices
Preferred Role Requirements:
- Current accredited chainsaw training
- Experience in the operation of heavy equipment such as tractors, excavators, skid steer loader, mulcher and slasher
- Competency in rural fence installation, timber and steel
- Experience in operating 4WD and ATV vehicles in remote areas
- Basic knowledge in maintenance of vehicles and small engines, for example spray units
