Industrial Electrician

South Coast Automation & Electrical Pty Ltd are a newly established company, based in the western suburbs and servicing Adelaide and regional South Australia.

Due to business growth, we are looking for a maintenance Electrician to service our Adelaide-based clients. This will be a permanent position for a qualified Industrial Electrician, responsible for ongoing routine services, breakdowns, and new installations.

About the role

You will be required to:

• Visiting various sites to perform troubleshooting, identifying issues and servicing of heavy machinery equipment
• Delivering preventative maintenance works in accordance with planned schedules
• Reviewing tasks to be completed & liaising with our technical team on the status of tasks
• Developing relationships with client's facilities management & liaising with building Management & project managers during contract works
• Working closely with installation teams including engineers and people in all levels of the industrial automation industry
• Providing training for safe operating procedure to new operators
• Preparing WHS, SWMS and QA documentation
• Be flexible and undertake wide range of work
• Work within a team environment
• Shift Support
• Have a can-do attitude and passion for the industry

Skills and experience

• Trade qualifications in Electrical with very strong fault finding/ trouble shooting skills on automated or PLC based control system
• Troubleshooting PLC, HMI & VSD/VFD issues, modifying the parameters and creating and updating electrical drawings.
• Solid post apprenticeship experience (ideally 5yrs+) in commercial electrical plant and equipment
• Be committed and self-motivated, with very good organizational skills
• An ability to self-manage tasks as required & ability to perform under pressure and within tight timeframes
• Current WHS Card
• A good level of computer literacy
• Excellent communication skills
• A Grade Electrical License
• Driver's License
• Construction Industry White Card
• Working at heights
• EWP High risk work license
• Current LVR & CPR
• Strong focus on safety
• Can do attitude
• Self-motivated
• Proven experience in Industrial electrical installation, fault finding and maintenance activities
• Experience with Switch Control Gear
• Ability to participate in continuous improvement initiatives
• Available to work Monday to Friday, Overtime and Weekend availability
• Ability to work unsupervised
• Demonstrated ability working within a fast-paced environment
• Experience in fault finding complex electrical systems and equipment
• Experience in working with 3 Phase Motors, variable speed drives, and pneumatics
• Proficient in reading complex industrial wiring diagrams
• Interest in working on and troubleshooting PLC and instrumentation systems - we will help you develop
• Great communication skills with peers and clients
• Experience with network and communication protocols (Not Required)
• Open Registration License - with appropriate endorsements (Not Required)
