The opportunity:

Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, this role sits within a team of six who all take a collaborative approach to their work. We are seeking an experienced Collections Officer; initially for a 12-month contract due to parental leave. In this role you'll have full accountability in managing all collection activities to maximise recoveries in a timely manner. As part of a collaborative finance team, you will also have involvement in supporting daily AP/AR duties.

What does a typical day look like?

  • Report on Collection activity and account status.
  • Contacting customers (email & phone) to discuss outstanding invoices and achieving payment outcomes
  • Escalate Customer billing related issues;
  • Receipt & allocate Customer payments;
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date records of all communications, payment arrangements and actions take for each account
  • Manage Collections mailbox, responding promptly to client queries
  • Negotiating payment arrangements and terms per company guidelines
  • Investigate and resolve customer queries
  • Engage with key internal stakeholders such as Client Service Managers
  • Collaborating with the broader finance team to resolve payment issues and any additional tasks as required
  • AP/AR support: processing advisor payments, accounts receivable and banking transactions and undertaking or reviewing relevant reconciliations

Here are the types of experience we are looking for:

  • Experience in collections and/or customer service within Lending, Banking, or Finance
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • Familiarity with MYOB Advanced and EzyCollect is highly desirable
  • Demonstrated ability to handle inbound and/or outbound calls professionally and efficiently.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage confidently with a wide range of customers.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Working knowledge of Direct Debit systems and processing would be advantageous

Hybrid work options:

Willingness to attend our bright and airy offices in Adelaide's CBD.  After probation, we offer the option to WFH for up to 2 days per week.
