Graduate Environmental Scientist, (Contamination Assessment & Remediation) - Tasmania

In Tasmania, our Contamination Assessment & Remediation team is on the lookout for our next graduate in 2026 Based out of our Hobart office, and with a degree in Environmental Science or Environmental Engineering, your interest in getting out into the field on a wide variety of projects throughout Tasmania and beyond will serve you in good stead in this position.

Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:
- Working with intermediate and senior staff implementing environmental investigations including conducting field investigations, including drilling (various rig types), monitoring well and soil vapour installation oversight; conducting and coordination of environmental monitoring (soil, sediment, groundwater, soil vapour, surface water);
- Field oversight of contractors;
- Assistance with field scope development, scheduling, budgeting
- Assistance with data compilation and interpretation
- Preparation of technical environmental reports for senior review
- Maintain safety training to conduct environmental contaminated sites work
Our two-year Graduate Development Program is designed to give you a smooth start to your consulting career. Alongside your peers, managers and mentors, we'll help you detangle any challenges along the way.
What you will bring to the team:
- Will graduate by December 2025 with a Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Engineering or Environmental Science or equivalent
- 0 to 2 years of experience in environmental consulting
- Has a strong interest in chemistry, soil, groundwater, contamination assessment, and remediation methods.
- Knowledge of contaminated sites regulation and associated guidance, protocols, and guidelines.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office
- Excellent writing and verbal communication is required to effectively express technical information to multiple audiences including subcontractors, clients, colleagues, etc.
- Strong technical writing, data analysis and interpretation skills.
- Valid full driver's license and is comfortable with long distance and off-road driving (training will be provided)
