About the role

The Senior Project Officer provides program management, governance and reporting support. The role manages and coordinates the development and implementation of strategic projects and programs to deliver excellence, innovation and best practice across the NSW education system.

About you

  • PMO experience and associated process improvement capabilities
  • Advanced analytical capability to interpret complex information, identify trends, and inform strategic decision-making
  • Adaptable with excellent communication skills
  • Strong stakeholder relationship management skills
  • Experience preparing program reporting, to ensure compliance with departmental policies and procedures, to support decision-making and optimise operational effectiveness
  • Capable of managing compliance with project administration protocols, including implementing agreed monitoring and reporting processes, to ensure optimal governance and the timely resolution of issues and mitigation of risks
  • Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department's Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department's Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people

Essential requirements of the role

  • Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications or demonstrated equivalent professional experience.

Renewal is not required after the WWCC expires, as long as you remain in a non–child-related role. Employer obligations only apply while the WWCC is valid.
