About the roleWe are looking for enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join us as Surface Refinishing Apprentice.
Description of DutiesPreparation and painting of aircraft exteriors, interiors, and parts during maintenance visits, as well as aircraft components in overhaul workshops, in accordance with published maintenance procedures
Ensure all painting documentation and certification with respect to aircraft and component painting is accurately completed in accordance with the company's Maintenance Organisation Exposition (MOE), Procedures Manuals (PMs), and any other company requirements.
Record and report any defects found during the performance of maintenance to the Engineering Certifying Staff, Workshop Supervisor, and on the applicable maintenance record.
Be responsible for and ensure calibration, inspection, maintenance, and repair of Specialist Maintenance and painting equipment used is carried out in accordance with company procedures and WHS requirements.
Be responsible for personal tool control, compliance, and accountability.
Be responsible for the general condition, upkeep, and housekeeping of any hangar, workshop, or related work areas and vehicles, ensuring all issued Aeronautical Products, Standard Parts, or Materials are stored compliantly in accordance with all MOE and PM requirements.
Ensure strict compliance with Engineering Work Health and Safety policy and procedures.
Support and promote the Safety Management System, Quality Management System, and maintain a Just Culture.
Perform any other duties as directed by the LAME, Leading Hand, Senior Base Engineer, or Maintenance Manager.
Maintain a detailed apprenticeship journal.
Be responsible for the completion of aviation-related study as required.
Selection Criteria
Be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident
Hold a valid Drivers Licence
Ability to undergo and pass a pre-employment Drug and Alcohol test
Ability to obtain an Aviation Security Identification Card
Be responsible for the completion of aviation study as required
Maintain a detailed apprenticeship journal
Ability to pass a literacy and numeracy test
Knowledge of the following:
CASR Part 145 regulations
Aviation Maintenance
Surface preparation and spray-painting techniques
