Senior Engineer – POS, Inventory

Pryan is delivering a modern, integrated POS + Inventory + E‑Commerce solution for a major Commonwealth cultural institution. Built on an enterprise low‑code platform, the solution integrates with FMIS (TechnologyOne), CRM (Tessitura), CMS (Wagtail) and DAM (Alfresco), supports real‑time store operations, enables an online store, and aligns to ISM and PCI DSS requirements. We're seeking a Senior Engineer who can take technical ownership end‑to‑end— build, integration, quality and operability.

What you'll do

• Own delivery of low‑code modules for POS, Inventory, Purchasing, and E‑Commerce orchestration (products, pricing, availability, orders, customers).
• Design secure integrations with enterprise systems using REST/OData, batch pipelines (CSV/SFTP), and webhooks; implement connector‑level security (auth, retries, throttling, error queues).
• Implement store operations: real‑time stock ledger, variants, transfers, cycle counts, adjustments; model a digital channel for e‑commerce; ingest weekly 3PL stocktake snapshots and build reconciliation/variance reports.
• Enable compliant payments by integrating a PCI‑DSS‑certified payment service (hosted fields/tokenisation) so the app never stores PAN data.
• Harden security & identity: SSO/MFA (SAML/OIDC), role‑based access control, audit logging, encryption, release/change governance aligned to ISM.
• Ensure usability & accessibility: fast, reliable, WCAG‑conformant UIs; optional offline‑first patterns for pop‑ups/field use.
• Automate & operate: version control and CI/CD, test automation, monitoring/alerting, logging, backups, performance tuning, deployment runbooks.
• Collaborate & uplift: work with BA/UX/DevOps/Sec; coach developers; contribute to training and handover so client teams can own the solution.

What you'll bring

Must‑have

• 5+ years engineering experience; 2–3+ years building enterprise apps (visual domain modelling, flow‑based logic/automations, reusable components, page/UI modelling, role‑based security).
• Strong systems integration skills (REST, OData, webhook design, mapping/transforms, idempotency, error handling, retries).
• Solid grasp of store operations and inventory control (ledgers, valuation, stock movements, variants).
• Hands‑on payments integration and understanding of PCI DSS scope‑reduction patterns (tokenisation, hosted fields, P2PE).
• Identity/security fundamentals: SSO/MFA with SAML/OIDC, RBAC, secrets management, encryption, auditability.
• CI/CD and DevOps basics (Git, pipelines, environment promotion), API testing (e.g., Postman), and quality practices (unit/UI tests).
• Excellent stakeholder skills; ability to translate business workflow into robust technical designs and deliver incrementally.

Nice‑to‑have

• Experience integrating TechnologyOne, Tessitura, Wagtail, or Alfresco (or similar FMIS/CRM/CMS/DAM).
• Experience deploying low‑code apps to managed PaaS or enterprise cloud, with logging/monitoring and backup/DR patterns.
• Offline‑first/mobile patterns; accessibility (WCAG 2.1 AA).
• Retail/e‑commerce domain knowledge (click‑and‑collect, returns, catalogue hygiene, pricing and tax).
• Exposure to 3PL data flows (snapshot import, variance/OTIF reporting).
• Australian Government delivery experience; Baseline/NV1 clearance.
