About the opportunity

Westgold Resources currently have an opportunity for a safety driven, technically minded UG Mine Surveyor to work out at Higginsville Gold Operations on a permanent 8:6 roster.

Reporting into the Manager - Surveying, the Mine Surveyor ensures precise measurement and mapping of operations, guiding extraction process, ensuring safety, regulatory compliance and optimising resource utilisation.

The role includes

• Supplying all survey requirements for underground and surface mine operations while ensuring adherence to all statutory requirements and Company Safety, Health and Environmental standards and procedures
• Conduct special survey projects as and when required by management
• Work with other team members to ensure that safety, business and production targets are achieved across the site
• Provide technical support, assistance and advice across other departments as required
• Operate within the bounds of the Mine Survey Code of Practice
• Assist in the setup of new Surface and Underground Operations
• Continual development of aerial survey database utilising existing company UAV's
• Schedule, prioritise and undertake surveying tasks autonomously
• Mentoring and supervision of junior staff members

What do I need?

• 18 months experience as a Graduate Mine Surveyor (or equivalent) with exposure to UG and/or open pit mining
• Strong planning and organisational skills
• Able to work autonomously
• Strong computer literacy skills
• Tertiary Survey Qualification
• Remote Pilot License - Drone (Desirable)
• Authorised Mine Surveyors certificate - Grade 1/Grade 2 or the ability to apply
