What We Want: We are seeking a self starter, open minded Mechanical Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background and experience in the mining and minerals sector, working in brownfield operational environments. Previous shutdown/outage experience is advantageous.

This is a FIFO position (ex-Brisbane) with a family-friendly roster and the opportunity to be an integral part of a high-performing, collaborative team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Scope and assess packages of work for fixed plant equipment remediation or replacement
  • Develop comprehensive work packs in line with scoping requirements
  • Support the contractor tendering and procurement process
  • Assist in the management of contractors and associated cost control
  • Maintain scope control of project works within a live operational environment
  • Foster strong working relationships with clients, consultants, and contractors
  • Manage and mitigate project risks to ensure safe and timely delivery
  • Provide regular reporting (daily, weekly, monthly) to internal and external stakeholders
  • Maintain oversight of all project documentation, ensuring regulatory and industry compliance

About You

To succeed in this role, you'll bring:

  • A tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar role, ideally within fixed plant maintenance or shutdown/project environments in mining.
  • Demonstrated experience working on brownfield operational sites.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
  • Solid understanding of project delivery frameworks and engineering standards.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (including MS Project).
  • A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with a commitment to safety and quality.
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in fast-paced, high-pressure environments.
