Join our growing team at AEC Group as an Economic Consultant in Townsville, starting January 2026. Key Responsibilities:

• Undertake detailed literature reviews, data analysis, and economic research to inform critical decision-making.
• Support senior team members with economic analysis and modelling (including cost-benefit analysis, impact assessments, and policy evaluations) to deliver actionable insights.
• Collaborate with diverse teams, always seeking to add value and improve project outcomes.
• Prepare concise, clear reports and presentations that outline findings and recommendations.
• Build strong, trusted relationships with clients by understanding their needs and presenting clear, actionable results.
• Stay informed about local and national economic trends, particularly those that impact Townsville and broader regional Queensland.
• Contribute to business development by identifying opportunities and assisting in proposal development.

The Ideal Candidate will have:

• Bachelor's degree in Economics, Business related field  (Master's or Honours in Economics preferred).
• Relevant experience in economic consulting, research, or a similar role, preferably with exposure to both private and government sectors.
• Strong quantitative skills, with experience in statistical analysis and data visualization tools being a plus.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to clearly convey complex information to non-technical audiences.
• Detail-oriented, with a commitment to producing high-quality, accurate work.
• Interest in expanding knowledge in economics, consulting, and innovative analytical methods.
