The Role:
Join our growing team at AEC Group as an Economic Consultant in Townsville, starting January 2026. This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to make an impact in both regional and national economic analysis. If you're proactive, keen to learn, and excited about collaborative problem-solving, we want to hear from you This role is ideal for someone who has a passion for economic consulting, loves diving deep into data, and can communicate complex insights effectively to a variety of stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Undertake detailed literature reviews, data analysis, and economic research to inform critical decision-making.
- Support senior team members with economic analysis and modelling (including cost-benefit analysis, impact assessments, and policy evaluations) to deliver actionable insights.
- Collaborate with diverse teams, always seeking to add value and improve project outcomes.
- Prepare concise, clear reports and presentations that outline findings and recommendations.
- Build strong, trusted relationships with clients by understanding their needs and presenting clear, actionable results.
- Stay informed about local and national economic trends, particularly those that impact Townsville and broader regional Queensland.
- Contribute to business development by identifying opportunities and assisting in proposal development.
The Ideal Candidate will have:
- Bachelor's degree in Economics, Business related field (Master's or Honours in Economics preferred).
- Relevant experience in economic consulting, research, or a similar role, preferably with exposure to both private and government sectors.
- Strong quantitative skills, with experience in statistical analysis and data visualization tools being a plus.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to clearly convey complex information to non-technical audiences.
- Detail-oriented, with a commitment to producing high-quality, accurate work.
- Interest in expanding knowledge in economics, consulting, and innovative analytical methods.
