We are currently seeking an experienced Laundry Assistant to join the team providing support services at Bethanie Como Aged Care Home.
This is a permanent part-time role with the following shift pattern:
- Week 1: Monday
- Week 2: Monday
To be successful in this role, you will have experience in laundering practices ideally in an aged care, hospital or similar environment, and be of a friendly nature, as interaction with our residents is core to our culture. You may also have the opportunity to be trained in and work across the roles of Kitchen Hand and Domestic Assistant.
About You
- Previous experience working as a Laundry Assistant, ideally in an aged care, hospital or similar environment
- Have a 'can do' attitude and a genuine compassion for our residents
- Reliable with a strong work ethic
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to uphold the Mission, Vision and Values of The Bethanie Group
- Willingness to obtain relevant vaccinations
- Current NDIS Worker Screening (or willingness to apply for one)
The Role
- Ensuring all laundry and linen is laundered correctly and infection control practices are adhered to
- Sorting and washing linen by wash temperature, colour, degree of soiling, infectious nature, fabric and fibre
- Loading and unloading washing machines and tumble dryers
- Sorting and folding clean and dry linen
- Reporting damage or wear and recommending repairs or replacement
