CFO Position – Life Sciences - Sydney Based
Position Overview
My client is preparing for imminent expansion, in addition to their recent years of establishing themselves as a market leader within the life sciences global industry.
The executive team have evolved the company for more than a decade.
Building long standing customers and client base that are top tier and increasing year on year.
This client and partnership base is diverse and requires high standards and fast pace agility from both the sites and HQ teams alike.
The company has a number of locations in place to leverage growth, both financially and in headcount.
To ensure this business plan takes shape, my client is specifically looking for an accomplished CFO who has demonstrative experience in rapidly growing a small - mid sized privately owned company. Specifically in the pharmaceutical and clinical space.
The role will directly report into the CEO with regular board meetings in Sydney.
The finance team is 4 headcount currently with a plan to grow.
The company supports the mission to advance clinical research and deliver high-quality patient care.
Key Duties:
- Develop and execute financial strategies aligned with the company's objectives, ensuring sustainable growth and profitability.
- Set out growth plans working with the senior leadership team
- Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements, reports, and analyses to inform decision-making.
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvement
- Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and professional development.
- Periodic reporting, payroll, AP, AR management
- Communicate financial performance and strategic initiatives to internal and external stakeholders, including investors, regulatory bodies, and partners.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master's degree or professional certifications (e.g., CPA, CFA) is preferred.
- Previous experience leading a global HQ Finance team here in Australia
- Pre-requisite need to have at least 5 years in a line management in the life sciences sector.
- A crucial component of need for the client is to have worked in a startup environment at some point and influenced significant change in a short space of time of your own volition
