About Us

Torque Enterprises Pty Ltd is a proudly Australian-owned engineering and OEM business based in Mackay, Queensland, with operations across NSW and QLD mining regions. Established in 2011, we specialise in the design, manufacture, overhaul and servicing of underground coal mining equipment, including our own range of Australian-made loaders. With in-house capabilities covering Code D mechanical repairs, ExDES-certified engine systems, transmission and hydraulic dyno testing, CAD-based design and custom fabrication, we deliver end-to-end solutions with minimal outsourcing. We are a NATA-accredited inspection body and licensed NSW Service Facility, committed to the highest standards of safety, quality and compliance.

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Test Bench Operator with strong Caterpillar knowledge to join our dynamic team. This position involves testing, diagnosing and undertaking minor repairs on a wide variety of components and systems.

Key Responsibilities

· Operate test benches for transmissions, torque converters, scabs, hydraulic controls and DCV's.

· Test a broad range of components to ensure performance and compliance.

· Diagnose faults and carry out minor repairs as required.

· Accurately record test results and maintain documentation.

· Work collaboratively with workshop and quality teams to ensure turnaround times and standards are met.

What You'll Need

  • Certificate III in Engineering - Mechanical
  • Current Driver's Licence
  • High Risk Licence – LF (Forklift)
  • RIIHAN305D – Operate Gantry or Overhead Crane (or willingness to obtain)
  • RIIHAN203E – Conduct Lifting Operations (or willingness to obtain)
  • Strong understanding of transmissions, torque converters, hydraulic controls/DCV's.
  • Reliable and able to work both independently and in a team environment.
  • Australian working rights (No visa sponsorship offered)
