We are looking for qualified security guards to join our NQPS Security Team in Cairns, Innisfail and Port Douglas.

We have roles available in General Security, Night Patrol, and CIT.

  • Award rates or above ($34 - $76 shift dependent)
  • Experience a plus but not a necessity—we provide on the job training for the right applicants.
  • You MUST have a valid full Queensland Driver's License and a CURRENT Queensland Security License
  • First Aid Certificate is an advantage; however, we will work with you to gain one at our cost.
  • Applicants must have a clean criminal record with no convictions that would affect security clearance.

Night Patrol —

  • You will drive an NQPS fleet car, check sites and provide alarm call outs for a diverse range of Cairns and FNQ area clients.
  • The role is in 12-hour shifts: you work 7 days a fortnight, never more than 3 days at time, and always get every second weekend off.

CIT (Cash in Transit) and/or ATM Technician—

  • For all CIT work you MUST have a current CIT license in addition to your current Queensland Security License
You will drive an NQPS fleet car, between clients and banking / office sites facilitating cash and change pick ups and drop offs.
  • Shift hours are varied with a minimum of 20 hours per week. Full time hours are available, with the possibility of switching to full time employment at a later date.
  • Successful ATM Technician applicants will be servicing ATM machines and facilitating refills and pick-ups.

Armed Guards —

  • You MUST have a current fire-arms license as well as a current Queensland armed security guard license on top of your current Queensland CIT and general security guard licenses.

  • Understand the importance and responsibility of performing security tasks diligently. (After all, people rely on us, and we have to be great at what we do Just like The Avengers)
  • Enjoy giving back to the community (Just like Spiderman)
  • Like the idea of working 12 hr shifts at night only 7 days a fortnight for full time pay (Giving plenty of days for doing your own thing).
  • We supply the car, but you will need a full, current driver's license and be a responsible driver.
  • Work a standard route with some reactive responses as well (A bit like Batman, we go when they call)
  • We conduct random drug tests so you can only be high on life. (So, it's probably not for the Hulk).
  • Car expenses are covered; you are responsible for keeping it clean. (No-one ever gave Wonder Woman fuel money)
  • Be an energetic, enthusiastic, team player.
  • Wear a uniform. We supply the shirt; you supply the black pants and shoes. (Unlike on the Incredibles … But… NO CAPES)
  • Be over 18.
