The Sovereign Hill Museums Association is a not-for profit community-based organisation that includes: Sovereign Hill Outdoor Museum, Sovereign Hill Hotel, AURA and Narmbool, the Australian Centre for Rare Trades and Arts and the Australian Centre for Gold Rush Collections. It cares for a nationally and internationally significant collection of over 150,000 objects and protects the tangible and intangible cultural heritage of the Victorian gold rush.

We are an Australian tourism icon that attracts some 500,000 visitors annually. The Outdoor Museum is internationally renowned as a living museum featuring rare trades, and programs and experiences that interpret a pivotal point in Australia's history. In all, some 350 staff work to bring our gold-rush story to life. They are supported by over 250 volunteers.

JOB TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Sovereign Hill Museums Association is open to public on weekends and public holidays. The ideal candidate for this role must be able to work weekends.

HELPDESK AND SYSTEM SUPPORT

Provides phone, remote and direct support to all users of SHMA ICT systems
Maintain, support and provision Desktop hardware including PCs, Laptops, Mobile devices, in addition to, Printers, Peripherals, and Audio Visual appliances,
Escalate support tickets to team members as required
Remediate ICT systems issues and faults
Provide end user support and configuration of Retail Point-of-Sale and EFTPOS
Ongoing update of asset registers and ICT documentation
Available via phone or email during all hours that Sovereign Hill is open to the public
Participate in a rotating on call roster for after hours and weekend support
Maintain and update documentation as required, including, but not limited to End User Work Instructions, Self-Help guides and Technical documentation for inclusion into the Knowledge Base. Participate in the identification, development and communication of new technology standards and best practices as appropriate
Assist the team members in the planning and deployment of new hardware, software and system upgrades
General programming of telephone system

SYSTEM AND NETWORK ADMINISTRATION
Assist with monitoring network systems, including hardware and software components.
Assist with performing & checking system updates, patches, and backups to ensure data integrity and availability
Assist with access control and user permissions to maintain system security
Collaborate with IT teams to align network infrastructure with organizational goals and needs

PROBLEM SOLVING
Analyse situations, evaluate alternatives and implement solutions
Recognise why a fault occurred and take steps towards resolving underlying issues to prevent future occurrences
Interpret guidelines and analyse information to adapt or modify processes in response to changing circumstances
Act as a resource to others to solve problems
Exercise independent judgement. Work affords significant opportunity to act independently on assigned tasks
