Position Overview

We're hiring a commercially astute and operationally sharp Financial Controller to step into a high-impact, hands-on role, replacing our outgoing Head of Finance. This is a minimum 3-day per week role with flexibility.

As a key member of the Leadership Team, you'll not only manage financial operations, but actively participate in shaping strategy, scaling systems, and delivering insights that drive decision-making.

Stakeholder Engagement

Own and manage relationships with banks, tax advisors, auditors, and consultants. Represent Taste Food Distributors with investors, business partners, and key customers to ensure alignment and confidence in financial strategy and reporting.

Leadership Team Participation

Actively contribute as a core member of the Leadership Team, involved in strategic decision-making, EOS Level 10 meetings, and quarterly and annual planning. Familiarity with EOS or entrepreneurial operating systems is a plus.

Budgeting & Forecasting

Lead the preparation of annual budgets, rolling forecasts, and monthly reporting. Provide insightful analysis on performance against targets, highlighting opportunities for cost management and profit improvement.

Strategic Finance & Growth Support

Model and analyse financial scenarios to support strategic initiatives and long-term growth targets. Deliver commercial insights that guide pricing, margin strategy, and investment decisions.

Cash Flow & Trade Finance

Manage cash flow planning and execution, ensuring liquidity to support operations and capital investment. Work closely with banking partners to optimise trade finance and working capital facilities.

Financial Oversight

Lead the finance function, including oversight of accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and offshore bookkeeping. Maintain rigorous internal controls, month-end procedures, and accounting accuracy.

Inventory & Systems Management

Ensure inventory accounting is robust and reconciled (Cin7 experience preferred). Drive process integrity across financial systems and lead initiatives for system improvements and automation.

FX Management

Execute and monitor the company's FX hedging strategy to manage exposure across EUR, GBP, and USD — ensuring cost-effective and timely supplier payments.

Compliance & Statutory Reporting

Ensure full compliance with all legal, tax, and financial reporting obligations. Liaise with external accountants to prepare accurate quarterly and annual accounts.

• CPA or CA qualified
• 5–10+ years in senior financial roles, ideally in FMCG, wholesale, or import/distribution
• Proven inventory accounting and reconciliation experience (Cin7 or similar)
• Strong commercial acumen and experience with financial modelling and scenario planning
• Advanced Excel skills and working knowledge of Power BI or similar reporting/automation tools
• Experience managing offshore bookkeeping teams
• Strong communicator with the ability to present financial insights clearly to non-financial stakeholders
• Practical experience managing FX exposure and hedging strategies
