ABOUT THE ROLE

As the Financial Controller, you will lead our Finance team to deliver accurate, compliant, and timely financial information. Reporting to the General Manager Finance Operations, you'll play a pivotal role in protecting our group's balance sheet, driving process improvements, and ensuring compliance with accounting and regulatory requirements. You'll manage a team across Sydney and Wellington, collaborating with senior stakeholders and contributing to the delivery of our finance strategy.

Key responsibilities:

• Manage month-end close and year-end audit processes.
• Ensure accurate and timely completion of statutory and regulatory returns (income tax, FBT, GST, financial statements).
• Lead and develop a high-performing Financial Control team.
• Oversee and enhance financial systems, controls, and reconciliations.
• Support external audits and implement technical accounting changes.
• Foster collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders and support cross-functional initiatives.

ABOUT YOU

• Extensive experience in technical accounting, statutory reporting, and compliance (Australia & New Zealand).
• CA qualified with significant post-qualification experience.
• Demonstrated leadership experience with a passion for developing high-performing teams.
• Strong strategic, analytical, and commercial acumen, with experience applying analytics to support financial decisions.
• Excellent communication and influencing skills.
• Experience preparing Board/Audit & Risk Committee papers highly regarded.
• Desired: "Big 4" background, Oracle NetSuite experience, exposure to tax requirements, and ability to work across geographies.
