PURPOSE

The primary responsibilities of the position are to deal & support derivative products and bond investment portfolio, develop & maintain relationships with derivative clients and contribute to meet the financial target by serving the clients treasury products and executing transactions.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

The following aspects of this role are indicative only and in no way limits the Bank in allocating additional accountabilities (specific tasks, projects or related activities) to the employee, within the scope of the employee's level of competence, experience, knowledge and qualification.

Derivatives Business Development

  • Execute of Interest Rate Derivatives to customers of the bank who require Interest Rate hedging within the bank's limit and risk appetite
  • Work with other front office/sub-branch to identify and capture new customers for derivative hedging
  • Maintain and develop an effective relationship with existing & prospective customers, including companies, banks, financial institutions and other relevant counterparties.
  • Contribute & enhance post derivative dealing management
  • Assist new ISDA agreements being put in place with both customers and interbank counterparties
  • Keep abreast of all changes to regulations and be involved in all committees looking after the implementation of same within the Bank
  • Build new relationships with interbank counterparties and work with Corporate Banking/FI to ensure sufficient lines are put in place to facilitate derivative dealing
  • Engage with and build strong relationships with potential counterparties
  • Complete regular performance reports and enable the management to get accurate reflection of treasury activities
  • Support, develop and integrate new products

Investment management

  • Contribute to development of annual bond investment strategy
  • Assist to manage the investment portfolio, by following the bank's investment strategy
  • Pursuing high quality bond to increase the both size and yield of the investment, within Branch's risk appetite
  • Monitor the market closely to minimize the risk

EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Undergraduate degree in Finance/Economics/Math or equivalent
  • At least 2 years' experience in FX/Derivative trading
  • Deep and wide knowledge of Treasury products
  • Experience managing a small team of professionals will be preferred
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Strong sales skills and extensive network
  • Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with clients and other departments
  • Ability to meet deadlines and task quality
  • Performance driven
  • Good communication skills
  • Thorough knowledge of the Australian market and regulatory policies.
